　日本語(にほんご)には同(おな)じ発音(はつおん)で、アクセントが違(ちが)うだけで意味(いみ)の異(こと)なる言葉(ことば)がたくさんあります。これらを同音異義語(どうおんいぎご)と呼(よ)びます。同音異義語には、アクセントの違(ちが)いすらないものもあります。
　母語(ぼご)話者(わしゃ)同士(どうし)でも、どちらの意味(いみ)か分(わ)からず、会話(かいわ)の中(なか)で確認(かくにん)することがしょっちゅうあります。例(たと)えば、はな。

Do you know some words called ‘同音異義語(どうおんいぎご)’ ? These words have the following feature which have different meanning and same pronunciation with different accesent or same one.
Even native-Japanese-speakers are not easy to understand of 同音異義語 at once in their conversation. So they often check such a word meaning thorugh their conversation. I show you ‘はな’ for example, like below;

※はな⇒花(flower) /　鼻(nose)
　ぶつける　hit
　 台無し(だいなし)　make it ruined
　 災難(さいなん)　unfortunate

A：昨日、はなをぶつけてさ
B：それは痛かったね。
A：あ、買ったばかりの花をぶつけて折ってしまったんだよ。
B：あ、顔の鼻じゃなくて、お花だったんだ。うわぁ、落ち込んだ？
A：うん、せっかくのプレゼントが台無しになったよ。
B：それは災難だったね。

A talked about bloken flowers which he bought for a present. But B thought that A talked about his nose at first. So B tried to tell feeling sorry for his nose hitted. Such a misunderstanding is made by はな having same pronunciation.
